Job summary

Union Community Care in Lancaster, PA 17602 is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain grounds, building and equipment. This role responds to security and emergency calls and coordinates with authorities when needed.

Responsibilities include painting, carpentry, plumbing, and basic repairs; maintaining alarms and drainage; and ensuring a clean, safe site. A High School Diploma or GED, PA driver’s license, and security experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver’s license in Pennsylvania.
• One year of security experience.
• English proficiency required.
• Ability to use a variety of tools, including carpentry, plumbing, and painting tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect premises for irregularities such as signs of intrusion or service interruption.
• Respond to emergency calls from security systems; cooperate with police and fire authorities; notify leadership of irregularities.
• Inspect alarm and fire safety systems to ensure proper operation.
• Paint walls, floors, woodwork, and fixtures using spray gun, roller, or brushes.
• Repair counters, benches, and other wooden structures with carpentry tools.
• Open clogged drains and perform minor plumbing repairs.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and pulleys.
• Maintain exterior grounds: lawn care, planting, and snow removal.
• Wash windows (inside and out).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: JOB SUMMARY

Maintains grounds of agency. Repairs and maintains equipment, plumbing, physical structure and fixtures. Responds to emergency and security calls. Inspects the building for security for employees.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES

1. Inspects premises for such irregularities as signs of intrusion and/or interruption of service.
2. Responds to emergency calls from security system agency. Cooperates with police and fire authorities in such emergency calls. Alerts administration (CEO/COO) of any irregularities.
3. Inspects burglar alarm and fire extinguisher sprinkler systems to ascertain they are set to operate.
4. Paints walls, floors, woodwork and fixtures of establishment using spray gun, roller, and brushes.
5. Makes and repairs counters, benches, and other wooden structures using saws, braces, bits, and other carpenter’s tools.
6. Opens clogged drains, using plunger and plumber’s tools and performs minor repairs.
7. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys, and other parts of machines using rags, brushes, and grease gun.
8. Maintains building exterior, including lawn mowing, trimming and edging, lawn and shrubbery spraying, lawn watering, planting of grass, flowers and trees, and snow removal and salt application to sidewalks, lots, etc. in the winter.
9. Responsible for washing windows as needed –internal and external.
10. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current, valid driver’s license in Pennsylvania
• Minimal gardening experience
• One year of security experience
• English proficiency required
• Ability to use a variety of tools, including carpentry, plumbing, and painting tools
• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
• Honor patient confidentiality
