Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East in Florida is seeking a dependable Apartment Maintenance / Handyman to perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, apartment turns, and property upkeep for a residential apartment community. This role requires hands-on maintenance experience and the ability to troubleshoot and complete a variety of repairs independently.

The position features an 8:30AM - 5:30PM schedule with a starting pay rate of $20/hr.

Qualifications

• Previous apartment maintenance, handyman, property maintenance, or general maintenance experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, and appliance repair.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance problems independently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Must be dependable, professional, and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders and maintenance requests.
• Perform apartment make-ready and unit turn work.
• Handle basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, and leaks.
• Perform basic electrical repairs, including outlets, switches, fixtures, and lighting.
• Complete drywall repairs, painting, caulking, and minor carpentry.
• Troubleshoot and repair appliances when possible.
• Repair doors, locks, cabinets, hardware, and fixtures.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine property inspections.
• Maintain common areas and assist with exterior property repairs.
• Identify larger repair needs and report them to management.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and property policies.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physical maintenance work throughout the shift.
• Ability to use ladders and work indoors and outdoors.
• Ability to work in occupied and vacant apartment units.
