Job summary

Hoover Treated Wood Products, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep all machinery operating and ensure safety and environmental compliance. The role covers mechanical and electrical maintenance, with responsibilities ranging from preventive maintenance to installing new equipment and responding to downtime.

You will work in both indoor and outdoor environments, with training on safety and environmental programs. A strong emphasis on accuracy, independent work, and teamwork is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance required (2 years minimum).
• Ability to perform cutting, grinding and welding activities.
• Willingness to learn the treating plant operation.
• Knowledge of Bearings, Motors, Gear boxes, Hydraulic systems, Sprockets, Pumps, and Pneumatic systems.
• Ability to identify worn parts and knowledge of how to replace them.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensure environmental and safety procedures are followed and report any unsafe activities.
• Maintain mechanical equipment to remain operational (pumps, conveyors, burners, etc.).
• Maintain electrical equipment (breaker boxes, power supplies, sensors, lighting).
• Complete work orders for equipment issues and respond to downtime promptly.
• Maintain preventative maintenance programs with accurate records.
• Install new equipment including wiring/piping; work with motors, pumps, bearings.
