Job summary

TownePlace Suites Nampa, operated by Western States Lodging & Management, seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform routine upkeep, assist with more complex repairs, and learn building systems under guidance from experienced colleagues.

The role offers on-site work, introductory training, and opportunities to grow maintenance skills while contributing to a welcoming, well-maintained hotel environment for guests and residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 0–1 years of maintenance, facilities, construction, property operations, or related experience.
• Entry-level candidates with a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance principles and repair techniques.
• Ability to safely and effectively use common hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and basic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn new maintenance skills and take on new responsibilities.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with supervision.
• Ability to work with higher supervision while developing skills.
• Strong customer service mindset with professional communication.
• Dependable, organized, and able to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Willingness to work some weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, repairing minor plumbing issues, replacing or repairing fixtures, painting, and basic repairs.
• Assist experienced maintenance technicians and property leadership with more complex repairs, installations, and maintenance projects.
• Complete assigned work orders accurately and promptly while maintaining high service standards.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment, building systems, facilities, and grounds for maintenance or safety concerns.
• Assist with preventive maintenance to keep equipment and systems operating safely and efficiently.
• Help maintain property appearance including basic cleaning, groundskeeping, and seasonal tasks.
• Assist with snow and ice removal to keep walkways and entrances safe.
• Assist with pool/spa maintenance as needed.
• Learn troubleshooting for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, and other systems.
• Use tools safely and maintain work areas clean and organized.
