Job summary

Stockdale ISD is seeking a Maintenance worker to support daily facilities operations in Stockdale, Texas. The role includes upkeep of grounds, basic carpentry, and operating hand and power tools to maintain classrooms and common areas.

Responsibilities include HVAC maintenance, lighting, facility setup, and occasional custodial duties. Strong safety awareness, physical stamina, and ability to lift heavy objects are required. This is a full-time on-site position with possible overtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Effective grooming skills.
• Ability to lift 55 pounds to shoulder height occasionally.
• Ability to push/pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Trouble Shooting mentality.
• Help maintain grounds (picking up trash, weed eating, cleaning leaves and cutting back trees).
• Carpentry knowledge, door hardware experience.
• Using power tools and hand tools (Drills, Saws, Wrenches, etc.).
• Maintenance on A/Cs (replacing filters, cleaning condenser units, unclogging drain lines).
• Perform ongoing tasks such as replacing light bulbs (climb ladders up to 16 feet), filling dispensers, and setting up facilities for student and adult use (lifting furniture, boxes, and cafeteria tables—minimum 55 lbs).
• Make minor building repairs and promptly report major repairs.
• Work overtime and weekends as necessary to meet District events and facility schedules.
• Go up and down stairs frequently; frequent bending and standing.
• Assist in major summer clean-up (washing desks, walls, floors).
• May be required to work night shift.
• Willing to do custodial work when needed.
