Schedule: Full-time | On-site | Day Shift + Flexibility Required
Pay: $30$40/hour (based on experience and license level)
Status: Non-Remote

This is a high-responsibility, mechanically focused role where your license is not just a checkbox — it's a requirement for operational compliance. What You'll Do

  • Boiler System Oversight
    • Operate and maintain high-pressure boiler systems in full compliance with City of Houston regulations
    • Perform routine checks, minor repairs, and lead safety inspections of all boiler components
  • Mechanical Systems Maintenance
    • Diagnose and repair plant equipment including Gorman-Rupp and Air-Operated Diaphragm pumps, motors, air compressors, valves, tanks, and flowmeters
    • Conduct preventive maintenance on plant infrastructure (piping, tanks, valves)
  • Treatment Equipment Operation
    • Learn and maintain DAF units, Tricanter centrifuges, sludge systems, and level indicators
    • Participate in water sampling, sludge control, and waste processing
  • Electrical and Fabrication
    • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and interact with PLC control panels
    • Weld or fabricate railings, stairs, and tank supports as needed
  • Facility Maintenance & Support
    • Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and technicians to maintain uptime and safety
    • Assist with environmental safety initiatives and structural upkeep

What You'll Need

  • City of Houston Grade 2 Stationary Engineer License (REQUIRED)
  • 35 years experience in mechanical maintenance in industrial, wastewater, or utility settings
  • Strong skills in pump/valve maintenance, electrical systems (LOTO/troubleshooting), and piping infrastructure
  • Welding/fabrication experience preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with sludge processing, DAF systems, or similar wastewater tools is a plus
