Mayroad seeks a Maintenance Technician Generalist for a full-time role at Eielson Air Force Base, Fairbanks, AK. The position diagnoses, repairs, and maintains residential properties and other Mayroad assets, handling structural, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and related tasks as assigned.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to pass background and drug tests, a valid REAL-ID, and experience in multiple trades. A personal vehicle and smartphone are required.

Qualifications

• Education requirement – High school graduate or GED; may be offset by experience.
• Ability to pass a state and federal background check to access the Air Force installation.
• Ability to pass a 12-panel pre-employment drug test.
• Valid, unrestricted REAL-ID compliant driver’s license required to drive on the Air Force Installation.
• Experience performing residential maintenance and repair across carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, and HVAC or steam systems depending on location.
• Must have personal vehicle and personal smartphone.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain the physical condition and appearance of residential properties and other Mayroad assets.
• Perform tasks across structural, paint, plumbing, HVAC, steam, electrical, and related areas as assigned.
• Work in various environments including non-climate-controlled spaces with PPE.

• Experience performing residential maintenance and repair work across multiple skilled trades, including carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, and HVAC systems (for positions located in CA, FL, NC, and KS) or steam systems (for positions located in AK).
• Must have personal vehicle for on-the-job transportation.
• Must have personal smart phone for on-the-job communication.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works performing repairs/construction in a residential environment. The position requires regular use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Involves working in a non-climate-regulated environment. May involve exposure to extreme heat/cold, temperature changes, exposure to noise (85+ decibels), exposure to hazardous materials, use of power tools, atmospheric conditions, water, industrial hazards, electric shock, ice and slipping hazards, heights, and falling hazards, and other hazardous working conditions. Requires limited daily time in an office environment.

Physical Demands

The heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds is expected. Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force is required. The employee is frequently required to walk, climb, lift, carry, balance, reach, grasp, handle, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
