Maintenance Labor - Maintenance Technician

Summary of Job

Perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance work on our converting, printing, and extruding equipment, and various other ancillary equipment, as well as general repairs to building and grounds. Emphasize good analytical skills and the ability to source outside resources to resolve issues, troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic and mechanical problems, repair and replace faulty components or parts, install new machines and equipment, perform preventive maintenance on equipment, and maintain parts and supplies inventories. Support the plant by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and modifying mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, including PLC, DCS, and multiple systems.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Emphasize safe work practices and familiarity with safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and work well with others.
  • Apply good analytical skills and a sense of urgency to complete work.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic systems and control circuits.
  • Solve mechanical problems, repair and replace faulty components, install new equipment, and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Perform reactionary maintenance when machines go down.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Manage projects related to equipment or facilities.
  • Source products and materials, obtain pricing, and manage parts inventories.
  • Perform tool & die and fixture jobs.
  • Collaborate within a team and across departments.
  • Offer and accept training, work independently, and guide others as needed.

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED; experience in machine repair or technical positions preferred.
  • Welding, fabricating, machining skills (lathes, mills).
  • Understanding of control systems and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and write reports.
  • Proficiency with Office software and CMMS systems.
  • Basic math skills including measurement, ratios, and percentages.

Physical Environmental Demands
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb stairs/ladders.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and endure elevated temperatures.

Position Details
  • Full-time, shift work from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
  • Overtime as needed.
