Role Overview

Catholic Charities of Baltimore is seeking a Maintenance Technician. The technician will ensure the safety and comfort of the physical environment for individuals/children served, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include performing general repairs and preventative maintenance.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Respond to work requests and take corrective actions based on priorities.
• Inspect sites and perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Perform routine maintenance, painting, and repairs.
• Carry out structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, drywall, and furnishings.
• Ensure sidewalks and access areas are clear of snow/ice; operate machinery if needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; at least three years of institutional maintenance experience.
• Valid Maryland driver’s license with less than three points.
• Two years of experience with plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

Skills & Abilities

• Maintain environment safety per standards and policies.
• Be punctual and reliable with consistent attendance.
• Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of cleaning solutions.
• Perform basic repairs and operate maintenance tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Rotate weekly 24-hour on-call duties.
• Lift a minimum of 75 pounds; perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, climbing.
• Operate machinery and power tools.
• Valid driver’s license and driving experience required; no restrictions impeding vehicle operation.
