• Assists other maintenance staff with repairs to locks, plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, minor carpentry work, etc.
• Reports major repairs to supervisor for correction.

Responsibilities

• Carry out, supervise, or coordinate clubhouse repairs and general maintenance for equipment, furniture, masonry, and building structures.
• Maintain club plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, appliances, ventilation, and building structures.
• Maintain pool filtration, chlorination, test water, and log results for health inspections.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance per PM procedures.
• Install tile, drywall, grout repairs, patches, and paving.
• Assist with special events by decorating and constructing displays.
• Monitor outside contractors and report status to Director of Facility Maintenance.
• Inspect rooms and spaces to replace light bulbs, switches, and fixtures.
• Ensure safety programs align with OSHA standards and maintain a safe workshop.

Job Summary (Essential Functions)

• Carry out, supervise, or coordinate clubhouse repairs and general maintenance needed for equipment, furniture, masonry and building structures to maintain the club property in optimal condition and appearance.

Job Tasks / Duties

• Maintains and makes general repairs to the plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, ventilation systems and building structures of the club.
• Maintains equipment of the club property.
• Maintains the filtration and chlorination of swimming pool, tests swimming pool water; and maintains daily log of water test results for local health department inspections.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance (PM) required by club's PM procedures.
• Installs tile, drywall; makes grouting repairs, patches walls and paves brick.
• Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Director of Facility Maintenance.
• Monitors work done by outside contractors and communicates the status of each project to the Director of Facility.
• Visually inspects rooms, public spaces and back of the house areas to replace light bulbs, lamps, switches, etc.
• Ensures that all building maintenance, repair, and cleaning activities are identified.
• Maintains the clubhouse swimming pool water: chemical balance, clean and log sheets updated
• Keeps the workshop areas safe, clean, and well-lit.
• Ensures that all refuse is properly removed from the clubhouse and its premises.
• Attends staff meetings including Safety committee.
• Responds to emergencies at any time.
• Be cheerful and courteous.
• Assists with preparation of special functions, parties, tournaments, etc., by installing decorations and constructing display pieces.
• Ensures a highly efficient safety program with an emphasis on awareness, discipline and compliance; implements an overall safety program that conforms to OSHA standards.
• Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Director of Facility Maintenance.

Education And/or Experience

• High School education or G.E.D Equivalent preferred
• Post-secondary vocational/technical training in electrical engineering, HVAC or refrigeration preferred.
• Valid Florida drivers license.
• Two years or more of maintenance experience in an institutional or business setting.

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements

• Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and chemicals.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform strenuous work lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping and climbing.
• Use ladders up to 32 feet.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
