The Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work. Work involves duties including:

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance and repair tasks that do not require the specialized training of a licensed tradesperson. They may fix or paint roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, walls, and other parts of buildings. They should recognize when a job exceeds their skill level and requires specialized expertise.
Maintenance Technicians will obtain supplies and parts from distributors or storerooms to fix problems. They must be able to use hand and power tools safely and effectively during daily tasks.
