Position: Full‑time Maintenance Technician
Location: Samsung - 1530 FM973, Taylor, TX 76574 (online applications only)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–4:00 pm (full time)
Pay: $27.50 to $28.50 per hour
Minimum Experience: 1 year (minimum)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in making decisions on all normal and complex repairs; report major problems to the maintenance supervisor and foreman.
- Construct, finish, install, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems and related facilities, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
- Clean, lubricate, service, repair or diagnose HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and similar specialty equipment.
- Supervise and lead a group of workers on a project.
- Read, comprehend and transmit complicated detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
- Teach advanced maintenance skills to other members of the department.
- Review work of outside vendors and licensed maintenance workers; create punch lists.
- Report on and repair discrepancies as assigned.
- Analyze and correct complex building system problems, alone or as part of a team.
- Maintain logs, perform rounds and complete work orders, tests and inspections.
- Make recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems.
- Serve as a member of facility emergency response team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
- Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
- Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Master license in one trade or one of the following: Journeyman Electrical License, Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, or Journeyman Plumber License.
- Valid driver’s license.
