We are hiring immediately for a full-time MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN position.

Location: Texas A&M San Antonio - 1 University Way, San Antonio, TX 78224 (Note: online applications accepted only.)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm. More details upon interview.

Requirement: Must have maintenance experience.

Pay Range: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

Job Summary

Performs a variety of maintenance duties including maintaining, repairing, and operating campus facilities, grounds, and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Maintain, repair, clean, and operate plant, shops, mechanical areas, and exterior grounds.
2. Perform basic maintenance and repairs; coordinate with supervisors and vendors.
3. Update work statuses, costs, and timing using company tech systems.
4. Support fleet maintenance including welding, plumbing, electrical work, and vehicle troubleshooting.
5. Assist in minor and routine repairs; report major issues.
6. Clean sidewalks, parking areas, and dispose of trash.
7. Operate electrical and gasoline-powered equipment.
8. Maintain and repair equipment using tools.
9. Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical work, and drywall maintenance.
10. Respond to emergency issues and perform repairs.
11. Maintain logs, perform rounds, and complete work orders.
12. Read and transmit detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
13. Serve on the emergency response team.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• One year of related maintenance or groundskeeping experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to heat, noise, dust, dirt, and areas requiring infection control.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and nights, as needed.
