Job summary

Second Nature Brands is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Sanders Chocolate Factory in Clinton Township, MI. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and equipment in a food manufacturing facility to ensure production runs efficiently and in compliance with quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical and electrical background, with 2+ years of experience, and must be able to work nights Sunday through Thursday from 11:00pm to 7:30am.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in maintenance, mechatronics, or industrial technology preferred.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skill.
• Must be able to read and write in English proficiently.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
• Standing for 8-10 hrs
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform tasks in confined spaces
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by company.
• While performing the duties of this job, you will regularly work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be high.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on production equipment, packaging machinery, conveyors, boilers, refrigeration systems, and other facility infrastructure.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely resolutions to maintain production efficiency.
• Follow and enforce safety protocols, including lockout/tagout.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure equipment operates in compliance with SQF (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA Safety.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment performance.
• Assist in equipment installation, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
• Adhere to FDA, SQF (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA Safety policies
• Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Maintain clean and safe work area
• Preform other related duties as assigned
