Job summary

FEUER Powertrain North America, the U.S. subsidiary of a leading German crankshaft manufacturer, seeks a Maintenance Technician – Fluids Management in the United States.

You will monitor and maintain machine fluid levels, test and adjust filtration systems, and coordinate with Purchasing and Process Engineering to prevent downtime. The role emphasizes safety, accurate recordkeeping, and timely maintenance actions in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Basic math, strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical documents.
• Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping.
• Familiarity with MS Office and maintenance software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Check and maintain fluid levels in CNC machines and related equipment.
• Test washing and quench fluids for additive concentration; adjust as needed.
• Maintain fluid usage records and maintenance logs; identify trends.
• Follow fluid maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance requirements.
• Identify leaks, contamination, or abnormal fluid conditions and report issues.
• Keep fluid storage and work areas clean and organized.
• Assist with fluid changes, disposal and handling per safety guidelines.
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Update maintenance tickets daily with repair notes.
• Update preventative maintenance tracking weekly.
• Comply with OSHA Fall Safety, Confined Space, and Lockout Tagout.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician – Fluids Management monitors and maintains machine fluid levels and quality, distributing and keeping accurate records of fluid usage by machine and performing maintenance on the grinding and drilling oil filtration systems as needed. This position regularly interfaces with Purchasing, Process Engineering, and plant leadership to drive visibility to machine issues and advise necessary maintenance based on trends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Check and maintain proper fluid levels in CNC machines and related equipment.
• Perform regular testing of washing and quench fluids for additive concentration levels, adding water or additive fluid as necessary to meet required specifications.
• Maintain accurate fluid usage records, maintenance logs, and tracking documentation to identify trends.
• Monitor and follow machine fluid maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance requirements.
• Identify leaks, contamination, or abnormal fluid conditions and report issues to maintenance or supervision, entering maintenance tickets as appropriate.
• Maintain clean and organized fluid storage and work areas.
• Assist with fluid changes, disposal, and handling procedures in accordance with company safety and environmental guidelines.
• Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations.

• Update maintenance ticket system with repair notes daily.
• Update preventative maintenance tracking tool weekly.
• Comply with OSHA standards and procedures for Fall Safety, Confined Space, and Lockout Tagout

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years experience in heavy industrial maintenance
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and recordkeeping skills.
• Reliable and self-starting with a strong ethical and moral basis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Career or technical certificate in Industrial Maintenance or related field
• Journeyman Electrician or Plumbing license
• Forklift certification
• Experience and / or certifications in HVAC system maintenance and repair
• Experience in automotive or powertrain manufacturing environments
• Experience with Siemens 840D interface

PHYSICAL / TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand, walk, and wear PPE for extended periods during scheduled shifts
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, grip, and lift up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis
• Ability to work with industrial machinery, oils, and coolants in a manufacturing environment
