Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for our community in Summerville, SC. You will perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks to keep building, grounds, and equipment in good repair, under the Maintenance Director's guidance.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years experience in a maintenance position.
• Knowledgeable regarding practices and materials used in building maintenance.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and carry heavy objects for up to 50 feet.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate tools and machines used in the maintenance/building trade.
• Order materials as directed - place and receive phone calls.
• Make repairs to building, equipment, and appliances as directed.
• Disassemble and move furniture throughout the community.
• Check community maintenance logs/work orders for prompt responses.
• Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
• Prepare and paint surfaces in the community.
• Maintain exterior grounds and assist with landscaping.
• Perform basic electrical work, including replacing light bulbs.
• Transport residents safely in community vehicle to appointments.
• Assist with community vehicle maintenance schedule.
• Assist maintenance director with resident safety drills.
• All other duties as assigned.
