Job summary

South Middlesex Opportunity Council in Lowell, MA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of building maintenance tasks across SMOC properties. The role includes electrical, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, painting and basic appliance upkeep, with on-call shifts and a 35-hour work week.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, turnover of vacant units, monitoring building systems and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience in housing/facility maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and handle on-call shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs and services using hand, power and specialty tools.
• Complete turnover of vacant rooms/apartments as directed by the Maintenance Field Supervisor.
• Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned.
• Complete work orders and communicate changes or delays promptly.
• Perform external property work including cleaning, snow removal and basic landscaping.
• Maintain safety standards in compliance with regulations.
