Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers in Frederick, MD, seeks an experienced maintenance technician to repair and maintain building systems, equipment and infrastructure. You will handle electrical, plumbing, boilers, HVAC, and safety systems while ensuring resident comfort and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, technical maintenance training, and at least three years of plant operations experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.).
• Three years' experience in plant operations and maintenance.
• Thorough knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and allied machinery would be helpful.
• Must have organizational skills and be able to do sequential events.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building plans.
• Basic knowledge of codes, Life Safety Code, OSHA and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Responds to residents and staff maintenance requests.
• Assists in preventative maintenance to keep equipment functioning and buildings in good repair.
• Repairs electrical, HVAC systems, boilers, generators and plumbing equipment.
• On-call rotations and support for other departments as needed.
