Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a technically minded maintenance technician for the third shift to fix and maintain a range of equipment on the manufacturing floor. You will perform preventative maintenance and support repair activities for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, while contributing to a positive team environment.

The role requires basic trades experience, the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and proficiency with hand tools, volt meters, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or HiSet with two years of basic trades experience.
  • Experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools and volt meters.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and record scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment.

Job Summary Are you the type of technically minded person who enjoys working with your hands to fix or repair equipment? In this role you will not only perform preventative maintenance within manufacturing, but you will support the repair and maintenance needs of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or electrical systems supporting production. We’re looking for a customer-focused team player who is excited to perform work that directly impacts the success of the production team.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform and accurately record scheduled preventative maintenance procedures on a variety of equipment including, but not limited to, hoists, paint systems, machining centers, and weld systems.
  • Create a positive customer experience when working with mentors, peers, and internal customers.
  • Accurately utilize the maintenance data system Thrive.
  • Perform basic maintenance functions of troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical equipment in partnership, with, or under the guidance of managers or senior/experienced maintenance technicians in assigned maintenance systems, while adhering to safety protocols as an Authorized Lockout/Tagout Team Member and, when applicable, as an Electrically Qualified Team Member.
What We’re Looking For
  • High School Diploma/HiSet and a minimum of two years of basic trades (maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or electrical systems)/manufacturing experience; or associate’s degree in basic trades preferred; or equivalent combination of education/experience required; experience working within Vermeer manufacturing, preferred.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate hand and power tools, volt meters, read blueprints and electrical schematics, write intra-departmental communication, and apply concepts of basic math.
  • Utilize troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
  • Effectively communicate with mentors, peers, and internal customers.
  • Perform basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to utilize Thrive, obtain LO/TO authorization, and become certified as an Electrically Qualified team member.
