Job summary

Sterling Engineering in Alsip, IL is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician for a contract role in a clean bakery manufacturing facility. Qualifications

• 1+ year of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or recent completion of a relevant technical/trade program or apprenticeship
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with industrial/manufacturing machinery
• Strong willingness to learn and develop additional maintenance skills
• Ability to work safely around moving equipment in a production environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing issues
• Assist production employees with equipment malfunctions and verify equipment is operating properly after repairs
• Support equipment changeovers and preventative maintenance activities
• Use hand tools, power tools, drills, saws, and other maintenance equipment safely
• Document maintenance activities and findings in the maintenance management system
• Communicate maintenance updates with production and other team members
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with GMPs and safety requirements
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production and assist with external contractors as needed

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Alsip, IL

Hire Type: Contract

Target Pay Rate: $25.00-$28.00/hour

Shift: 2nd Shift, 1:00 PM-9:30 PM

Schedule: Monday-Friday with weekend availability and up to 5 hours of overtime per week

Job Summary

Qualifications

• Industrial maintenance, manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or related technical training/experience
• Ability to troubleshoot and learn new equipment and systems
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance tasks in a fast-paced production environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Food, beverage, bakery, or other regulated manufacturing experience is a plus
• Experience with CMMS is a plus
• Forklift or scissor lift experience is a plus
