The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician (2nd & 3rd shift) to support our Cicero, IL facility. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating various machine tools, fitting, and assembling parts to fabricate or repair machine tools. Additionally, you will maintain industrial machines and install/repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.

Essential Job Functions:
- Troubleshoot, install, and perform basic repairs of frequency drives and mechanical/electrical problems of plant machinery (e.g., PLCs such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, PowerFlex, Tele Mecanique, ABB, Lenze).
- Troubleshoot, install, and repair electronic devices like safety scanners, safety lights, and touch screens (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley, Keyence).
- Perform maintenance and electrical troubleshooting to prevent equipment downtime through regular preventive maintenance.
- Use multimeters and other electrical test equipment, along with electrical drawings and schematics, to diagnose problems and make repairs.
- Adjust equipment settings for optimal performance and ensure quality manufacturing.
- Read schematics and incorporate changes to equipment functions as needed.
- Complete work orders accurately and neatly according to company guidelines.
- Work all necessary hours and shifts to meet customer demands.
- Follow safety protocols and report issues immediately.
- Comply with all policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Demonstrate basic computer skills.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical trades preferred.
- 1-3 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting preferred.
Preferred Education / Experience:
- Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in the corrugated industry.
- Certifications or training in industrial maintenance/electrician roles.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work 2nd and 3rd shifts and overtime as needed.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and perform basic A/C motor troubleshooting.
- Perform basic electrical installations and troubleshoot control circuits.
- Read and interpret instructions and manuals.
- Write routine reports and communicate effectively with operators.
- Calculate percentages, measurements, and rates accurately.
- Interpret instructions in various formats.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to read a tape measure accurately.
