Job summary

Atlas Tube in Missouri is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and rebuild tube mill production equipment on 1st shift. You will maximize quality, uptime, rate, and yield while applying strong electrical troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude. The role requires following safety procedures and using CMMS to track status.

You will read blueprints, diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and retrofit parts as needed. A team-oriented, safety-driven approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in a heavy manufacturing environment, maintenance preferred.
• HS diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship or journeyman training preferred.
• Proficiency with hand/power tools, precision measuring devices, and interpreting drawings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs.
• English communication skills and basic math calculations.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving in a safety-focused environment.
• Ability to pass job-related testing, a physical, and drug screening.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on equipment while following safety procedures including LOTO.
• Ensure guards and safety equipment are in place before returning equipment to operators.
• Monitor inventory levels; place orders and verify receipts as needed.
• Utilize CMMS to track, inspect, and report equipment status.
• Read blueprints and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and quality issues; escalate when needed.
• Carry out breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeover tasks.
• Identify and report safety, quality, or output issues when not solvable autonomously.
• Observe devices in operation with precision instruments to diagnose problems.
• Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow OSHA guidelines.
• Operate powered industrial trucks and cranes as required.
• Support continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives.
• Promote health and safety culture per company policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
