Maintenance Technician - DoubleTree Tampa Rocky Point Waterfront

Join us as a Maintenance Technician at OCI Hospitality in the beautiful DoubleTree Tampa Rocky Point Waterfront. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Our hotel features 291 rooms, a fitness center, business facilities, meeting rooms, an outdoor pool, and an on-site restaurant, all located in Tampa, Florida, near Clearwater Beach, Tampa International Airport, and Downtown Tampa.

This role involves maintaining and repairing the hotel's mechanical and electrical systems, general upkeep of the property, and grounds. Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, holidays, and weekends is required. Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or drywall is a plus.

Essential Job Functions
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical malfunctions (HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a schedule.
  • Service the hotel’s pool, including chemical adjustments and filter cleaning.
  • Maintain exterior grounds, including lawn care, painting, and gardening.
  • Follow safety protocols, report unsafe conditions, accidents, and injuries.
  • Assist with other engineering tasks and team members as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry trades.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to recognize safety hazards and adhere to safety policies.
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Work in various weather conditions, climb ladders, and perform physical activities like bending and crawling.
