Job summary

Volunteers of America Ohio & Indiana (VOAOHIN) is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support residential and program facilities throughout the Dayton area. You will perform a variety of building, facility, and property maintenance tasks to keep locations safe and well-maintained.

Responsibilities include preventive and emergency maintenance, basic plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, landscaping, inspections, bidding, and coordinating with vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of maintenance, facilities, construction, property maintenance, or skilled trade experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.

• Perform routine, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on buildings and grounds.
• Complete repairs involving plumbing, drywall, painting, carpentry, and general mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot maintenance issues and identify practical repair solutions.
• Maintain exterior areas, including basic landscaping and lawn care.
• Conduct facility inspections and proactively identify maintenance needs.
• Obtain bids and assist with coordinating outside vendors and contractors for larger projects.
• Ensure repairs and maintenance work are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with organizational standards.
• Travel between multiple VOAOHIN locations as needed to support maintenance operations.
