Job summary

Nippon Sanso Matheson in Albion, MI is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians to support production, safety, and reliability. Pay ranges from $24.00 to $33.00 per hour, with a $2.00 shift pay, determined by experience.

Typical shifts run 7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM, with every other weekend off; exact days depend on shift. The company produces dry ice and liquid CO2 with a broad distribution network and ongoing projects to improve equipment and processes.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; 2-year technical degree or related certifications a plus.
• Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing (extrusions or compressions preferred).
• Experience with hydraulics, screw compressors, mechanics, electrical systems; PLC troubleshooting; robotics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain production equipment in safe, optimal condition to protect staff.
• Continuously monitor production and process equipment for proper operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs from blueprints, manuals, or vendor specs.
• Adjust machines as needed and determine corrective actions based on PLC displays.
• Assist with installation, testing, and validation of new production equipment.
• Follow Process Safety Management procedures and maintain records.
• Oversee equipment changeovers and notify management of issues.
• Assist training of employees in proper equipment use.
• Keep repair areas organized and support production tasks as needed.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN -ALBION, MI

The company is looking for skilled MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS. Our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for providing support to achieve optimal levels of productivity, quality, and safety. Pay Range 24.00-$33.00 with a $2.00 SHP, depending on experience. A maintenance exam will be administered to determine level of pay. Typical hours are 7AM to 7PM or 7PM to 7AM, every other weekend - 3 DAYS OFF exact days depend on shift!

The company specializes in the manufacture and distribution of dry ice and liquid carbon dioxide. Nippon Sanso Matheson maintains a reliable network of 50 dry ice distribution facilities located strategically throughout its service area. This integrated distribution network ensures that Nippon Sanso Matheson can quickly react to customers' needs.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain production equipment in safe, optimal operating conditions to help ensure the protection of all plant employees and visitors


• Conduct continuous monitoring of production and process equipment for proper operation


• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of production equipment from blueprints, technical manuals, or vendor specifications


• Recognize and perform machine adjustments to the various manufacturing machine systems


• Determine corrective actions based on operational and trouble messages provided by Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) Display Monitors or other similar display panels


• Assisting with installation, testing, and validation of new production equipment


• Understands, follows, and maintains proper records for Process Safety Management procedures and requirements


• Participate in and oversee equipment changeovers as necessary


• Notify management of any potential equipment issues or other noted abnormalities


• Assist management in training manufacturing employees in the proper use of equipment


• Maintain organization of Maintenance Repair Area and any other area where repair work is in progress


• Assist coworkers with production or other tasks as requested

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree or any other related certifications or training is a plus


• Minimum of 4 years of maintenance experience within manufacturing environment (preferably within extrusions or compressions environments with hydraulic/pneumatic equipment)


• Experience with hydraulics, screw compressors, mechanics, electrical systems and troubleshooting PLC's


• Experience with robotics a plus


• Experience with large ammonia refrigeration systems a plus


• Must be able to lift 30 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, and work in tight spaces in and around machinery.


• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, employment history verification, and background check


• A Maintenance Skill Level Exam will be administered to determine pay level.
