Job summary

Chimes District of Columbia, Inc. is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to support a Monday–Friday 5:00am–1:30pm shift. You will perform a wide range of maintenance tasks, assist skilled trades, and ensure tools and equipment are ready for use, with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role emphasizes strong communication, adherence to policies, and the AbilityOne program context. Prior maintenance experience is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent and maintenance training are

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Maintenance training preferred.
• Six months of maintenance experience preferred.
• Candidates with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance services and address safety concerns.
• Perform a wide range of general maintenance tasks (e.g., carpentry, painting, electrical).
• Coordinate with skilled tradesmen and supervisors to complete projects and work orders.
• Document activities with repair status reports and logs.
• Ensure equipment and vehicles are maintained and available at site.
