Job summary

Amcor LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve packaging equipment and facility systems in a climate-controlled plant environment.

You will work with production, quality, and maintenance teams to perform PMs and corrective actions, repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled systems, and document each maintenance activity to GMP and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Must have 1-4 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or equivalent.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent with 2+ years manufacturing/technical education preferred.
  • Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Modify, repair, and rebuild plant machinery and equipment.
  • Read schematics and equipment manuals to diagnose issues and implement fixes.
  • Document repairs and maintenance per change-control processes.

Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment and facility systems to support safe and efficient plant operations. Working closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams, the Maintenance Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled equipment.Essential Jobs and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Report to front line leadership of Lead Technician.Work as a team member to obtain plant & departmental goalsMaintain all Plant Equipment and Facilities including the production, quality, scrap, housekeeping and safety results generated on the shiftPerform PM’s, cleans and lubricates molding machines and equipmentModifies, repairs, and rebuilds plant machinery and equipmentPerforms mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repairVisually inspects and solves problem machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctionsMeasures parts to detect wear, misalignment or improper operationDocuments repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipmentPerforms other incidental and related duties as required and assignedPotential duties may also include: Fabrication and installation of related trades; performing building maintenance; and general facility repairsPerforms installation of new equipment and or relocation of equipmentUnderstanding of the functionality of relays, motor contactors, motor starters, solid state relays, soft starts and variable frequency drives.Familiarity with operation and troubleshooting of PLC programmingAbility to read, interpret, and trouble shoot using schematic diagramsAbility to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and serviceExperience in electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DCPerform all activities safely, including the use of LOTO as required by company policy.Conduct safety inspections of equipment prior to use.Within the confines of the job, ensure the safe operation of all equipment prior to turning it back over to manufacturing.Document new/altered equipment safety checks or other change control documentation, as requiredUphold safety & quality absolutes.Work and perform to ISO standards.Other duties as assignedQualificationsCapable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting.Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.Capable of lifting up to 35lbsCapable of complying with all Safety requirements including the use of PPE: PPE includes but is not limited to Bump Cap or Hard Hat, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.Capable of maintaining an attendance record within Company guidelines and working required overtime.High School Graduate or equivalent with 2+ years manufacturing, technical school &/or Associates degree from an accredited technical institute preferred.Must have 1-4 years experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or equivalentMust possess strong troubleshooting & mechanical skill setsProficient in Office 360, JDE, CoastNegative drug screen results.Work in a safe mannerAdditional Information7:00am – 3:30pm Monday - Friday, overtime as neededClimate Controlled EnvironmentContribution to Safety, Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safety standards.Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.Support the accomplishment of your work groups through the quality, timeliness and professionalism of your attitude.Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.Apply resources in a manner that maximizes their effectiveness while assuring quality.Maintain a work environment that will contribute to the assurance of safety and GMP compliance.Adhere to established procedures, perform self-checking and pay attention to detail in the performance of you and your team’s work.Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of your work.Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.Our ExpectationsWe expect our people to be guided by The Amcor Way and demonstrate our Values every day to enable the business to win.
