Job summary

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience with conveyors, bearings, belts, gears, and lift components, and is familiar with lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

• Required to pass and obtain all reporting, testing, and certifications as required for this position.
• Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and common maintenance equipment.
• Working knowledge of bearings, belts, chains, pulleys, gears, shafts, and drive assemblies.
• Understanding of industrial safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.
• Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery, conveyor systems, winches, and associated equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical components, including bearings, belts, chains, rollers, pulleys, shafts, gears, and gearboxes.
• Diagnose conveyor system problems, including belt tracking, tensioning, alignment, drive failures, and excessive wear.
• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot winches, hoists, wire ropes, drums, brakes, and related lifting components in accordance with manufacturer requirements and applicable safety standards.
• Identify equipment malfunctions, determine root causes, and complete repairs to minimize downtime.
• Perform basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting within the employee’s training and authorization.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all applicable safety policies before performing maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts usage, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Communicate equipment deficiencies, repair needs, and potential safety hazards to supervisors
