A leading conservation board is seeking a qualified individual for maintenance and operation duties. Responsibilities include supervising employees and maintaining equipment. Candidates must hold a valid Iowa CDL, be at least 18 years old, and obtain specific certifications. This role requires considerable field work and adaptability to seasonal conditions.
Individual will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of all areas under the jurisdiction of the Washington County Conservation Board (WCCB), with duties including: light maintenance of equipment, helping supervise part-time and seasonal employees, and ability to operate machinery, tools, and equipment used in the maintenance and development of WCCB facilities.
Considerable field work required; hours may vary seasonally. Regular exposure to seasonal temperature extremes.
Minimum requirements: valid Iowa CDL, age 18 or older, High School diploma or equivalent. Must also have the ability to obtain a Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License within 6 months of employment, as well as the S130 and S190 Wildland Fire Training Certification for prescribed burns.
