Job summary

Walsh University is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Carpenter to perform routine carpentry and interior building maintenance across campus. You will repair and revise elements in collaboration with other trades, maintain inventories, and support various campus facilities.

The role requires reading technical manuals, light material handling, and safe operation of power tools. A valid driver's license is preferred and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years proven experience in commercial or residential carpentry and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Experience and working knowledge using carpenter trade tools, material and equipment.
• Familiarity with basic computer programs and ability to read manuals/diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and carpentry work on buildings, interiors, furniture, and fixtures to keep spaces in good condition.
• Manage inventory of parts, tools and equipment for carpentry repairs across campus.
• Assist other Maintenance Technicians with basic tasks (HVAC filter changes, light bulb replacement, etc.).
• Read technical manuals, logs, and instructions and follow them accurately.
• Support lock and key installation and minor repairs campus-wide.
• Diagnose problems and determine appropriate corrective actions; perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Occasional snow removal and overtime as required.
• Maintain safety procedures and coordinate with supervisors.

This is a fully on-campus role, where we do our work in community with colleagues, students, and campus partnersMain Campus - Fully onsitePosition SummaryThe Maintenance Technician/Carpenter will perform routine maintenance relative to carpentry and construction of building interiors, furniture, and fittings to maintain buildings and common areas in the best possible condition. Implement repairs and revisions along with other trades to buildings and assets maintained at the University.
