Job summary

Circle K in Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for supporting multiple locations from Mt. Vernon to Carbondale. You will troubleshoot, repair, clean and maintain equipment, and ensure a safe, efficient work environment.

The role requires 35 years in maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, and computer literacy to use MS Office and forms. Occasional travel between sites is expected; valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 35 years in maintenance/construction preferred.
• Must have manual dexterity and be able to use hand/power tools.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and climb ladders.
• Valid drivers license and insurability.
• Computer literacy: MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Telecommunications experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and clean equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
• Test new equipment and support ongoing repairs at multiple locations.
• Document actions, irregularities and needs; communicate with teams.
• Participate in training for current and new equipment.
• Support financial and key result area targets per company plan.

*Responsible for multiple locations between Mt. Vernon - Carbondale IL

Essential Functions:

Maintains equipment by troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning and maintaining related equipment; provides preventive maintenance. Facilitates repairs as required. Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Test new equipment as directed. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs. Have some computer knowledge to email, and use forms that are computer related to Circle K. Will be required to participate in training for existing and new equipment Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Increases professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company plan guidelines.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

3-5 years’ experience of maintenance construction field or more preferred.

Must have the manual dexterity to operate equipment, work in confined spaces, able to use power and hand tools, required crouching and/or crawling, and able to use a ladder.

Experience in telecommunications is preferred but not required.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple, changing priorities and ability to work independently in high priority, confidential, demanding business environment.

Must have a valid driver’s license and must be insurable as a driver.

Must be computer literate in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
