Position: Maintenance Technician, Blue Buffalo - Joplin, MO

As part of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance of processing and packaging equipment, providing technical support to optimize manufacturing operations and processes.

Shift Hours

• 12-hour shifts: 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off schedule
• Day Shift: 6:45 am to 7 pm
• Night Shift: 6:45 pm to 7 am
• Currently hiring for NIGHT SHIFT
• Willingness to work overtime, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergencies
• Plant operates 24/7

Pay and Benefits

• Up to $27.10 or higher with internal advancement opportunities
• Pay rates vary by experience: Tech I at $23.00/hr, Tech II at $24.22/hr or higher, Tech III at $27.10/hr or higher
• Shift differential: additional $1.00/hr for night shifts

About Our Location

Located in Joplin, MO, our pet food manufacturing site produces Blue Buffalo products. We foster an engaging culture with employee committees, events, and community partnerships.

Blue Buffalo dog food and treats, including Sizzlers, Stix, Bits, Blue Bones, and Wilderness Wild Bones.

Daily Responsibilities

• Producing high-quality foods for nationwide distribution
• Utilizing advanced technology in a leading facility
• Collaborating with experienced operators and teams
• Supporting, troubleshooting, and improving processing/packaging control systems (Wonderware, ArchestrA, PLC)
• Reading electrical and control schematics
• Providing technical support for equipment troubleshooting and modifications
• Participating in Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Training new employees

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of PLCs, electrical motors, gearboxes, and troubleshooting tools
• Experience with electrical systems and schematics preferred
• Basic shop equipment knowledge preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Performing physical tasks including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and twisting
• Working at heights using ladders or lifts
• Wearing protective gear as required
• Adhering to grooming and safety standards
• Working in various environmental conditions and around machinery
