Job summary

Pitt Plastics, Inc. is a plastics extrusion facility in Columbus, Ohio, seeking a Maintenance Technician B. The role covers maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment on a night shift (12 am–8 am) with shift differential for perfect attendance.

Candidates should have extensive machine repair experience with multi-trade skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic) and be able to work on AC variable frequency drives. On-site training and a safety-focused environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Requires extensive experience in machine repair and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience installing and programming AC variable frequency drives (VFDs) and industrial electrical systems.
• Strong mechanical and communication skills with reliable attendance and willingness to work non-standard hours.

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team! The position will report 12 am to 8 am.

There is shift differential pay with perfect weekly attendance!

TITLE: Maintenance Technician B

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Maintenance Technician B is a highly skilled and self-sufficient professional capable of maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment.

Pitt Plastics is a plastics extrusion facility in Columbus, Ohio. We're looking for a talented multi-trade maintenance person. Candidates must have previous manufacturing maintenance and minor electrical experience. Only candidates with this experience will be considered for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Requires extensive experience in machine repair, as well as thorough knowledge of and troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems throughout the facility.
• Candidates must have experience installing and programming AC variable frequency drives and industrial electrical. Only candidates with this experience will be considered for this position.
• Must possess strong mechanical and communications skills and have a strong general knowledge of plant maintenance.
• Three years or more related experience preferred in a manufacturing facility.
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Candidates should have dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate with little to no daily supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and accountability in carrying out maintenance tasks.
• Inspect and listen to machinery and equipment to identify and locate malfunctions, allowing for early detection and proactive maintenance.
• Tests the operation of machines and equipment to verify proper functioning and reliability.
• Assist in identifying spare parts required for equipment repair and complete requisitions accurately to ensure timely procurement.
• Becomes an owner of one group of equipment, taking full responsibility for maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and rebuilds on that machine class.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

• Ability to work in an environment that is extremely hot and humid in the summer months.

MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:

• Requires basic working knowledge of power hand tools such as drills, saws, and cutting tools.
• Must possess basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills prior to hiring.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Steel Toed Shoes, Ear Plugs, and Safety Glasses)
• Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 lbs. (frequently)
• Ability to stand and change positions frequently over an eight-hour period.
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and or legs. (frequently)
• Ability to see (in low light), hear spoken words, and verbally communicate.
