Job summary

Savant Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help maintain the facility’s environment, ensuring safety, comfort, and well-being for residents and staff. You will work under the Maintenance Director or Executive Director to perform a variety of general maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, inspections, and preventative maintenance, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and collaboration with contractors.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Health Screening, TB Clearance, and Criminal Record Clearance required.
• First Aid/ CPR Certified.
• California regulations referenced for special licenses/certifications.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in maintenance desirable.
• Experience in general maintenance, preferably healthcare.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general maintenance and repair of the facility (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry).
• Perform routine inspections of equipment, systems, and facilities.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders with timely completion.
• Conduct preventative maintenance (filters, lubrication, inspections).
• Assist in setup/breakdown of furniture and equipment for events.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and inventory.
• Monitor inventory of supplies and report shortages.
• Maintain documentation of maintenance activities (work orders, inspections).
• Ensure safety regulations and proper handling/disposal of hazardous materials.
• Report safety hazards or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Collaborate with contractors and vendors as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
