Maintenance Technician - Arnett Hospital

Overview

Position Summary: Performs scheduled and non-scheduled preventive maintenance, responds to dispatches for general maintenance calls, and troubleshoots/repairs secondary utility systems including plumbing, air-conditioning, electrical, and air systems. Maintains, repairs, and inspects specialized machinery and equipment in accordance with code and regulatory requirements. Recommends improvements and corrections to facilities equipment and systems to meet patient care needs. Coordinates with other services and departments. Performs routine building and grounds inspections. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities: Installs wall coverings and finishes such as paint, wallpaper, vinyl, trim, and borders. Finishes, sands, and primes drywall. Paints, varnishes, and stains surfaces, equipment, and fixtures. Repairs damaged walls and coverings. Performs basic layout, design, ordering, and estimating of jobs. Maintains inventory stock and supplies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• May require a valid Indiana driver's license with proof of insurance
• Knowledge of electrical secondary systems, plumbing, fire system devices, and air systems
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
• Basic knowledge of power and hand tools
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of healthcare-related building codes (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience
