Maintenance Technician- Altoids 10 Hour Day Shift

Schedule: 4-Day Weekend Shift: Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday

Job Purpose

Troubleshooting various competencies including Advanced Pneumatic, Basic Hydraulic, AC/DC Electrical Systems, Automation (PLC and Instrumentation), Machining, and Mechanical Systems on all Process and Packaging Equipment with minimal guidance. As part of a team, properly maintain and repair equipment in a fast-paced, high-production environment, while managing multiple mechanical, electrical, and administrative tasks.

Job Description

At Mars Wrigley – TNN Site, Chattanooga, TN, we are seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Altoids 10 Hour Day Shift. The role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Technical Degree/Trade Certification OR 2+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience
• Basic understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic Schematics and Mechanical Drawings
• Willingness to develop technical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance/Technology
• Trade Certifications in Welding, Machining, Fabrication, or Blueprint Interpretation
• Advanced knowledge of Electrical (up to 480VAC 3 Phase), Hydraulic, Pneumatic Schematics, Mechanical Drawings
• PLC/Instrumentation troubleshooting skills

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.) and pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.)
• Handling, gripping, bending, and stooping
• Ability to work at heights, climb stairs, and work on feet for extended periods
• Flexible schedule to support production needs in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul equipment within close tolerances
• Perform routine and predictive maintenance on Process & Packaging Equipment
• Support operations with equipment setup, changeover, and operator training
• Document work using SAP-PPM system
• Participate in TPM activities and adhere to safety procedures
