Meridian Health Services seeks a Maintenance Technician for River Bend Hospital in West Lafayette, Indiana. The role runs Mon-Fri 6:30A-3:00P with 24/7 on-call rotation and travel to Meridian sites as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, carpentry, safety checks, and routine upkeep of facilities. A high school diploma and two years of maintenance experience are required, plus EPA/OSHA certs and a valid license.

We are currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of River Bend Hospital and grounds, West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana working M-F 6:30A - 3:00P with potential 24/7 on call rotation with other maintenance technicians.

Travel is required and candidate must have valid driver's license. Company vehicles will be used to travel to Meridian sites.

Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain general upkeep of Meridian properties, such as plumbing, electrical, general carpentry repairs, drywall, painting, heating and cooling systems, etc.
• Repair and maintain simple electrical circuits, switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, ballasts, breakers, power cords, etc.
• Repair, install and maintain basic plumbing fixtures such as lavatories, toilets, dishwashers, laundry washing machines and dryers, tubs/showers, water lines, etc.
• Repair and painting of walls.
• Repair and maintain interior and exterior doors, including fire doors and auto operators.
• Inspect buildings, including roofs and common areas regularly.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled service requests and/or repairs.
• Perform routine ground maintenance to include clearing ice and snow, collecting trash on the grounds, landscaping and lawn maintenance, custodial, etc., to assure safety of patients, staff and visitors.
• Conduct safety equipment checks for all facilities, which includes fire extinguishers, emergency lights, exit lights, alarm systems, company vehicles, etc.
• Observes safety and security procedures and reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
• Perform on call in a weekly rotating schedule (24/7) for prompt response to emergent maintenance needs.
• Physical ability to climb and work from ladders, do heavy lifting, and work in extreme conditions (both hot and cold).
• Must possess the ability to learn and/or operate relevant technology, such as computer, laptop, tablet and/or smart phone, and operate a variety of office equipment (fax machine, copier, scanner, etc).
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
• Must comply with all Meridian policies and procedures, as well as Meridian’s Corporate Compliance Program as it applies to individual job duties, the department, and the company.
• Wear appropriate protective equipment when completing tasks that may involve exposure or potential exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue.
• Tools, supplies and a company vehicle will be provided in order to complete job responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are seeking Maintenance Technician candidates with the following qualities:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Combination of education, training and minimum of two years general maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of residential and/or commercial systems components such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
• EPA Certification.
• OSHA Certification – 10 hour required.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization.
