Qualifications

Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for building, equipment, and machine maintenance tasks including predictive, preventative, and post-situational. They perform a variety of moderate to complex functions in cleaning, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, ventilation, and mechanics to maintain optimum functionality of company facilities and equipment.

  • Basic installation, repair, and regular maintenance of CNC machines and other manufacturing equipment, including electrical wiring.
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment and machinery and help troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical problems as they arise.
  • Assist in installation of new manufacturing equipment and confirm they meet safety standards.
  • Facility construction and maintenance as it relates to cleaning, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Maintain company assets and interior/exterior environment for wear, damage, replacement, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Install, clean, or change filters, lighting, signs, racking, furniture, etc.
  • Fix any potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Keep the manufacturing process fully operational and minimize downtime by ensuring equipment is functioning properly.
General Job Functions
  • Responsible for the setup, maintenance and tear down of work areas, equipment and materials; keeps work area neat and tidy. Organizes such materials and equipment, data and workflow to ensure job requirements are achieved.
  • Read, interpret, and adhere to work instructions, regulations, manuals, and quality procedures.
  • Properly operate, maintain, and store mechanical tools and equipment required to perform the job.
  • Report job status to the supervisor including any malfunctions, non-conformances, damaged equipment, or other obstacles to production.
  • Ensure the on-time completion of tasks and reviews work for quality and completeness.
  • Take into consideration and participates in activities which fulfill compliance requirements to the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Quality Standards and the Quality Manual, as applicable.
  • Demonstrate clear and effective communication, both verbal and written. Prepare, maintain, and submit accurate paperwork as required, including job reports, timekeeping records, etc.
  • Adhere to all applicable environmental, safety and health, and operations procedures and directives, including the proper use of personal protective equipment following manufacturer specifications, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and company guidelines.
  • Ensure and promote safe work practices and rectify job site hazards, including clean work areas.
  • Read, understand, and interpret the lockout/tag-out indicators in the work area.
  • Know, understand, and adhere to organizational policies and procedures; align with and represents the mission, vision, and core values.
  • Regularly report to work on time, maintain acceptable attendance requirements, and work overtime as required.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position.

  • Working knowledge of various saws (band, chip, skill), hydraulic brake press, hydraulic shear, hand tools, meters, and gauges.
  • Demonstrated abilities in problem-solving, critical thinking, and mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required.
  • Working command of the English language with ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of various CNC machines and controls, including Star Swiss lathe, Mori Seiki, HAAS, manual lathe, and FANUC controls.
  • Experience with a forklift and pallet truck, or ability to learn.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

  • 2-3 years of CNC machine maintenance including but not limited to operational and or machine setup/production of CNC machine parts, CNC Machining Experience a plus.
  • Construction experience, including building, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Experience working in manufacturing with trade terminology and nomenclature.
  • Possess and demonstrate a thorough understanding and a working knowledge of all phases of the job.
Physical/Mental Involvement & Environmental Factors

Physical Requirements: While performing this job's duties, employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, bend, crouch, crawl, and twist. Reach, push, and pull with hands and arms. Lift to 50 pounds. Talk and hear, both in person and by telephone.

Mental Requirements: Employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information, and documents; analyze and solve non-routine and complex problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions, and interact with staff, the public.

Working Conditions: 100% of work takes place inside an industrial office/warehouse environment. Employees work in proximity to moving machinery, mechanical parts, and vehicles and may have exposure to prolonged loud noise, including sirens, horns, and tooling. Employees may handle hazardous material or have exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, biological hazards, and airborne fumes. The noise level is usually mild to moderate 75% of the time.
