Job summary

GESTAMPSERSATEST- is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on stamping presses and feed line equipment. The role requires following standardized work instructions and performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs to production equipment.

Responsibilities include maintaining air compressors, conveyors, pumps, and performing welding when needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs.
• USDOL Journeyman certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing setting, automotive preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized work instructions to conduct maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain large stamping presses and feed line equipment.
• Repair plumbing, drains, and pipe work; maintain air compressors and dryers.
• Work with conveyors, hydraulic pumps, and pumps; weld as needed.
• Perform electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting on production machines.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform required service; support operational improvements.

Role Summary

Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow Standardized Work Instructions.
• Mechanical maintenance of large stamping presses and feed line equipment.
• Plumbing basic repair, replace drains, run pipe threader.
• Maintenance of air compressors and air driers.
• Conveyor systems air, electric and vibro units.
• Hydraulic pumps, trash pumps, oil pumps.
• Welding arc, mig tig and spot basic knowledge.
• Manlifts, ladders, roof work, and outside work.
• Must follow all OSHA and plant safety rules including lock-out tag-out, etc.
• Rebuilding of cylinders and pumps of all kinds.
• Fabricating of scrap trays, chutes, and work benches.
• Supports the teams in operational improvement.
• Develops Initial Standard Work Practices with the teams.
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate.

Knowledge and Education

• HS diploma/GED advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs.
• Prefer USDOL Journeyman’s certificate or equivalent work experience or skills training.
• 5 years previous employment in a manufacturing environment — automotive preferred.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• Must be able to drive forklift and maintain certification.
• Must be able to work at heights, working on overhead cranes, repairing ceiling lights, parking lot lights and able to work in tunnels and pits.
• Must have strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
• Electrical 12-volt dc to 600-volt ac basic working knowledge.
• Basic carpenter skills, painting, repair drywall, ceiling work, building offices.
• Problem Solving — Recognize and solve the malfunctioning of the machine and recognize and solve quality problems of formed part.
