Job summary

Thogus Products Company is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician for our Avon Lake, OH facility. You will investigate equipment issues, troubleshoot root causes, and perform preventative maintenance across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on injection molding machinery and related automation.

The role includes 4-10 hour shifts on the 3rd shift (11:30pm–10am), with 12 paid holidays and 40 hours guaranteed, plus overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Technical school certificate preferred.
  • 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training.
  • Proficient with facilities, injection molding machines (or similar), auxiliary equipment maintenance, electronics and robotics repair.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • General understanding of the injection molding process and the functionality of support equipment including automation cells and other manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
  • Deploys Plan-Do-Check-Act methodologies for troubleshooting issues on the manufacturing floor. Conduct maintenance in a proactive manner to determine proper root cause of failures to ensure adequate solutions are deployed to resolve the critical failure and/or problem.
  • Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
  • Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe.
  • Starts/Restarts all manufacturing equipment to test operation following repair prior to releasing equipment to production.
  • This should be done to measure the success of the repair and to minimize downtime of the manufacturing equipment.
  • Repairs broken parts and/or determines best course for finding replacement components.
  • Performs routine and preventive maintenance to machines, auxiliary equipment including automation cells and building facilities.
  • Responsible for following all safety regulations.
  • Performs safety inspections on all manufacturing equipment and the facility.
  • Provides insight and recommendations of potential machine risks for human or equipment safety.
  • Documents findings during preventative maintenance activity and repair activities on manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist in maintenance activities related to tooling and production equipment in preparation for use in applications.
  • Ability to train, mentor and coach other technical team members in functional job activities related to maintenance and repair

Job description

Position Overview


  • Conducts investigations into suspect manufacturing equipment and applies strategic troubleshooting methods to determine root cause of machine failures

  • Deploys preventative maintenance actions and performs needed repairs to either maintain and/or improve performance of all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components of injection molding machines and support equipment, material handling systems and automated systems included robotics and custom manufacturing cells.

  • Responsible for general building and facilities repair and maintenance including critical systems related to manufacturing facility controls.

  • 4- 10 hour shifts

Essential Job Functions
