Summary

Keep production running smoothly by maintaining and improving the equipment that powers our operations. As a Maintenance Mechanic I, you will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, calibrations, and installations while supporting equipment reliability within a designated area of the facility. You will serve as a subject matter expert for your assigned process, helping troubleshoot issues and ensure consistent performance. This role is ideal for a hands-on, mechanically inclined professional who enjoys problem solving, working with equipment, and contributing to safe, efficient operations.

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform regular adjustments, calibrations and repairs from departmental demands both during production and non-production hours.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and needs in a timely manner within OSHA lockout/tagout and Perdue safety requirements.
  • Hold operational knowledge of assigned plant area as well as position class knowledge.
  • Be the subject matter expert on assigned equipment.
  • Respond to processing manager’s needs and requests on an as needed basis or through work assignments as assigned by the Plant Manager.
  • Read and interpret equipment blueprints, schematic, and operators’ manuals for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Communicate with the planning department for all recommended repairs, and or parts that would need to be ordered.
Minimum Education And Experience
  • Vocational/technical school or equivalent training for 3-4 years in four areas on the maintenance classification requirements.
  • 0 - 3 Years experience.
  • Reading, writing, and math skills.
Preferred Education And Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 - 4 years of prior related experience.
Physical Requirements And Environmental Factors
  • Exposure to plant seasonal weather and temperatures.
  • Noise exposure to 85 db or more.
  • Exposure to chlorinated water of 20 ppm.
  • Ability to move throughout the plant on a regular basis.
  • Ability to bend, stoop and lift objects as needed.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment.
