Job summary

Verus Aerospace is seeking a maintenance technician to support our facilities across multiple sites. You will perform routine preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, repair or replace defective equipment, and document repairs and reports.

The role requires hands-on skills with hand and power tools, strong safety adherence, and the ability to work autonomously and in diverse teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on repair of electrical and mechanical systems on machinery.
• Education / training in electronics and electrical systems desirable.
• Experience with hydraulic systems – repair and maintenance.
• CNC machine repair experience; gantry mill repair a plus.
• Familiar with Fanuc, Mazak, Siemens CNC controllers, PLC controllers, and servo systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines running smoothly and safely.
• Repair / replace defective equipment using hand tools, power tools, and assemble equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine corrective actions using blueprints and manuals.
• Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical components, and piping.
• Train, and where needed lead others to ensure department objectives are met.

Job description

Maintenance technician is a customer support position, focusing on the needs of the organization. Repair and preventative maintenance of a variety of machinery, tools, equipment used in all of our facilities. Duties will also include but are not limited to … routine maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously for long periods of time. This position requires a high sense of urgency with a focus on safety.

• Diagnose mechanical & electrical problems … determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
• Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment
• Train, and where needed lead others in department to ensure departmental objectives are met
• And other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• 7+ years of hands on repair of electrical and mechanical systems on machinery
• Experienced with hydraulic systems – repair and maintenance
• Experienced with mechanical machine alignment checks and adjustments
• Education / training in electronics and electrical systems desirable
• CNC machine repair experience, gantry mill repair experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge

• Familiar with Fanuc, Mazak, Siemens CNC controllers, PLC controllers, and servo systems.
