Job summary

Sub-Zero, Inc. in Goodyear, AZ is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (2:00 PM–10:00 PM, Monday–Friday).

The role focuses on maintaining production equipment, diagnosing electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical faults, and supporting continuous improvement in a climate-controlled facility. The position requires reading electrical schematics, interfacing with PLCs, using a CMMS (Maximo preferred), and adhering to OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or better.
• Technical training or equivalent.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, hydraulic blueprints and machine manuals.
• Must pass maintenance examination with score above 70%.
• Proficiency troubleshooting a variety of PLCs.
• Windows-based MS Office experience required.
• Experience with CMMS Maximo preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair of production equipment including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical failures.
• Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs and related systems.
• Read electrical schematics and use test meters.
• Interface and troubleshoot PLCs with various hardware.
• Use blueprints and manuals to repair and select parts.
• Perform root cause analysis and document in CMMS.
• Fabricate tools, jigs, fixtures, and perform welding/fabrication.
• Conduct weekly/monthly safety checks and inspections.
• Work effectively in a team during routine and rapid changes.
• Communicate with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and vendors.
• Adhere to safety practices including LOTO and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

2nd Shift - Monday - Friday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM. Training on 1st shift may be required.

Position responsibilities include:

• Repair of production equipment to includeelectrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical failures.
• Allen Bradley PLC's, 500, 5000, Flex Drives and other systems.
• Ability to read an electrical schematic and use test meters.
• Ability to interface and troubleshoot with a variety of PLC's.
• Use blueprint and machine manuals to troubleshoot equipment failure and select repair parts.
• Perform root cause analysis and document relevant information in the CMMS programs.
• Fabricate various tools, jigs, fixtures, etc. for production, as well as welding and general fabrication.
• Performs safety checklists: weekly/monthly checks on fire extinguishers, exit lights, parts run, and general building lights check
• Ability to work in a team environment experiencing routine and rapid change
• Communications with others on very regular basis, coworkers, Operations, Supervision, Engineering, Safety, OEM MFG, parts suppliers and outside vendors.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and procedures including: LOTO, fall protection, NFPA 70e and all other applicable OSHA regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

This position requires a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and background check, which will be administered after a conditional job offer is extended. Must be able to pass a written maintenance examination and pass at a level above 70%.

Proficiency in troubleshooting a variety of PLC's.

Must be experienced Window based Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Must be willing to work flexible hours in support of continued education and staff fluctuations.

Strong oral and written communication skills to write up an equipment analysis for root cause documentation.

Experience with CMMS program (Maximo preferred).

Strong understanding of OSHA standards.

Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
