Job summary

Gestamp Holding Mexico Sl is seeking an Assembly Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift to support production line equipment through setup, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical repair, with familiarity in PLCs and robotics to ensure uninterrupted operations.

You will read manuals and work orders, perform scheduled maintenance, and maintain safety standards under OSHA guidelines. Prior experience with Fanuc robotics is a plus.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics and PLCs.
• 5 years of manufacturing experience, automotive preferred.
• Experience with Fanuc robotics welders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow standardized work instructions.
• Set up machines, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and schedule maintenance during production.
• Read equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret safety rules and ensure OSHA compliance.

Job Summary:
Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1. Follow Standardized Work Instructions.
• 2. Robots, changing of weld shunts, tips, weld guns, and cylinder repair rebuilding.
• 3. Changing of transformers, firing panels.
• 4. Manlifts, ladders, roof work and outside work.
• 5. Must follow all OSHA and plant safety rules including, lock-out tag-out, etc.
• 6. Supports the teams in operational improvement.
• 7. Develops Initial Standard Work Practices with the teams.
• 8. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, and performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• 9. Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• 10. Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• 11. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• 12. Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate.

Education and Experience:

• 1. HS diploma/GED + advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLCs. Prefer USDOL Journeyman’s certificate or equivalent work experience or skills training.
• 2. 5 years previous employment in a manufacturing environment – automotive preferred. Prefer experience working with Fanuc robotics welders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• 1. Problem Solving – Recognize and solve the malfunctioning of the machine and recognize and solve quality problems of welded assembly part.
• 2. Basic electrical, dc, and ac voltage; will be changing prox cords and prox switches.
• 3. Basic welding arc, mig, tig, and spot.
• 4. Basic plumbing cooling water for welding

You should be proficient in:

• Blueprint Reading
• PLC troubleshooting
• Preventive Maintenance

• Hydraulics
• PLC Programming
• PLC wiring

Machines & technologies you’ll use:

• Robotic Welder

Experience:

• Programmable logic controllers: 1 year (Preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
