Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Waco, TX seeks an Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and assist in repair of facility systems. You will support safe, reliable operation and work with other Technicians to drive continuous improvement.

You will diagnose malfunctions by observing operation, read blueprints, use gauges, and perform welding as needed while maintaining a clean, compliant work area. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance.
• Understand, read and write Standard English and perform shop math calculations.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics.
• Operate mobile equipment, power shears, benders, grinders, powered hand and machine tools and related equipment.
• Perform arc and acetylene welding.
• Identify components in manufacturers’ maintenance and parts manuals.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.
• Install and/or maintain varied types of machinery and other equipment.
• Confer with Machine Operators and observe, listen for problems, test, and evaluate operation of machinery to diagnose cause of malfunctions.
• Disassemble damaged or worn equipment/units, repair/replace defective components, reassemble, and test.
• Fabricate sheet metal products such as covers, part chutes, chain/gear guards, stands, platforms, etc.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Check oil, water, fuel, and other fluids before operating machinery and equipment.
• Records repair time, parts, and maintenance notes in the Maintenance Management System on every job.
• Maintain 100% compliance and completion of all required training.
• Demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to learn manufacturing principles and techniques.
• Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for performing maintenance and repair of equipment. The position has interface with other Technicians in the repair of production and facility equipment.
