Job summary

Auria is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Spartanburg Plant to support robotics, PLCs, and mechanical/electrical systems in a high-demand manufacturing environment.

The role focuses on preventing equipment failures, performing rapid repairs, and ensuring safety with LOTO and OSHA/EPA compliance, while leveraging CMMS for task logging and parts usage.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • 5-7 years experience in related field.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot on industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, ABB, YASKAWA) to support water jets, foam fill, or material handling.
  • Troubleshoot PLC logic (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) to optimize automated cycle times.
  • Service and troubleshoot pumps, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and water jet systems.
  • Calibrate proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, limit switches, and camera-based quality inspection systems.
  • Execute rapid breakdown repairs to maintain Just-In-Time production schedules.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical breakdowns using schematics and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance inspections, lubrication, and part replacements.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate control systems and motors up to 480V.
  • Repair or rebuild gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and bearings; perform light welding, machining, and pipefitting.

We are currently searching for Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Spartanburg Plant in Spartanburg, SC.

What you will do:
  • Robotics & Automation: Troubleshoot on industrial robots (e.g., FANUC, ABB, YASKAWA) for water jets, foam fill, or material handling
  • PLC Programming: Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller logic (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) to optimize automated cycle times.
  • Precision Mechanical Repair: Service/Troubleshoot pumps, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and water jet systems.
  • Sensors & Vision Systems: Calibrate proximity sensors, photoelectric eyes, limit switches, and camera-based quality inspection systems.
  • Rapid Breakdown Response: Execute emergency repairs under intense time constraints to maintain tight Just-In-Time (JIT) production schedules.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose mechanical and electrical breakdowns, read schematics, and use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters) to identify root causes.
  • Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PM): Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, and part replacements to prevent equipment failure before it occurs
  • Electrical Work: Maintain, repair, and calibrate control systems, up to 480V systems, motors, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Mechanical Work: Repair or rebuild gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and bearings, and perform light welding, machining, and pipefitting as needed
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, ARC flash safety, and all OSHA or EPA regulations
  • Documentation: Log completed tasks, part usage, and equipment status using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or an ERP program like “Plex”

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
  • Precision Mechanical Repair: pneumatic, hydraulic systems

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • An Associate's degree or certification in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or Electrical Engineering is preferred
  • Strong proficiency in interpreting complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic/pneumatic prints
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and frequently kneel, crouch, or climb in varying facility temperatures.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts
  • Must be able to fully comply with all applicable safety requirements and policies
Preferred Automotive Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years in a Tier 1 automotive supplier or OEM vehicle assembly plant.
  • Specialized Training: Certifications in robotics, advanced PLC troubleshooting, or Mechatronics.
