Job summary

Wausau Supply Company seeks a Maintenance Technician to handle routine and emergency maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems using CMMS.

Role includes plant layout, installation, and startup of new equipment, reporting to the Maintenance Manager, with a 2nd shift schedule: Mon-Thu 3pm-2am. Requires 3+ years’ experience in electromechanical maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred in electro-mechanical tech or industrial maintenance.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial maintenance with electromechanical focus.
  • Travel as required to various locations.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Experience with AC/DC drives, automation equipment, conveyors, CNC programming, motor repair/installation, hydraulics, instrumentation, pneumatics, power distribution, welding.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs or replaces-in-kind existing production and material handling equipment.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager in maintaining inventory of critical repair parts.
  • Determine cost-effective repair or upgrade; disassemble, repair, reassemble and start-up equipment.
  • Document maintenance repairs and equipment histories.
  • Install and modify machinery and equipment as required by production and engineering.
  • Service and repair PLCs, motors, and drives.
  • Assemble and maintain electrical and electronic devices, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and other production mechanical systems.

What This Role Will Be Doing

A Maintenance Technician will have complete involvement in routine and emergency corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for all electrical, mechanical and electromechanical equipment and their related controls. A Maintenance Technician can also become a key player in plant layout, installation, and start-up of new equipment. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Duties To Include (not Limited To)
  • Repairs or replaces-in-kind existing production and material handling equipment.
  • Assists Maintenance Manager in maintaining an inventory of critical and other repair parts to ensure uninterrupted productivity.
  • Determine the most cost-effective repair or upgrade, disassemble equipment, repair defective components, reassemble and start-up equipment.
  • Documents maintenance repairs and equipment histories.
  • Installs and modifies machinery and equipment, including one-off assignments, as required by production, engineering, and other personnel.
  • Services and repairs programmable logic controllers (PLCs), motors, and drives.
  • Assembles and maintains: electrical and electronic devices and systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other production mechanical systems, as necessary.
A WSC EMMT Will Possess And Demonstrate
  • The ability to diagnose and repair or replace-in-kind electromechanical systems and the use of electromechanical tools and test equipment.
  • A comprehensive understanding of how these technologies and skills are linked together to create a totally productive manufacturing system.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Personal computer operation.
  • Established safety policies, standards, practices, and procedures.
Education / Position Requirements

Associate of Arts degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or Industrial Maintenance preferred.

OR

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial maintenance with 3 years demonstrated capability in the electromechanical disciplines noted above.
  • Travel as maintenance necessitated to various locations.
  • Physical Requirements – ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Demonstrated experience with any or all of the following is a strong plus:
