Job summary

LKQ Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift at our Newnan, GA facility to monitor and maintain equipment and support overall site welfare. The role includes performing preventative maintenance, addressing service requests, and upholding safety standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience, with preferred background in painting, sanding, and machining.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Prior painting, sanding, and machining experience preferred, with on-the-job training.
• High school diploma or GED required; strong safety and quality mindset.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and complete maintenance service requests as assigned.
• Alert leaders to any unusual occurrences or damage in the facility.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations at all times.
• Assist in monitoring work performed by outside contractors.

Apply now and take the first step toward a rewarding career!Responsible for monitoring and maintaining equipment, materials, and the overall welfare of our facility.**Essential Job Duties*** Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned.* Responsible for alerting leaders of any unusual occurrence and/or damage within the facility.* Schedules and/or completes preventative maintenance.* Assures safety standards are followed which comply with all company, local, city, and State/Federal guidelines.* Assist in monitoring work performed by outside contractors.* Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, city, State and Federal guidelines.**Supervisory Responsibilities*** Not responsible for supervising employees.**Minimum Requirements****Education & Experience*** 1+ years of experience.* Prior painting, sanding, and machining experience preferred, supplemented by on-the-job training, to learn duties, nature of work performed, procedures, work methods, to become familiar with the company’s products, locations, machines and equipment, operating methods, and to attain proficiency requirements and to fully assume responsibilities of the job.**Preferred Requirements*** High School Diploma/GED.* Experience with routine vehicle repairs including brakes, suspension, engine components, and electrical troubleshooting for passenger vehicles up to and including class 8 trucks.**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities*** Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.* Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.* Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.* Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.* Decisions generally affect own job or assigned functional area.* Results are defined; sets personal own goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.* Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.**Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment*** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods of time.* The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
