Job summary

Lifeway Foods, Inc, a Chicago-based beverage manufacturer, seeks a mid to high-level Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair of production equipment. Reporting to Facilities Manager, you will ensure safe, sanitary operation of all machinery and assist Level II/III mechanics on projects and PMs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
• Work with Level II and III mechanics on small projects and PMs.
• Complete paperwork using CMM’s program.
• Maintain the maintenance shop and work area to Lifeway standards.
• Learn HVAC, chiller, and boiler systems basics.
• Provide reliable, safe equipment operation and communication with teams.

This position is a mid to high-level position responsible for performing preventive maintenance duties, accountable for the care and maintenance of all production equipment in a safe and sanitary manner.

Job Summary:Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Technician’s position is primarily responsible for the maintenance and repair of the company’s equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Able to follow directions for basic assembly and repair of equipment
• Work with Level II and III mechanics on small projects, PMs, and breakdowns
• Complete all required and necessary paperwork using CMM’s program
• Work production maintenance, and building grounds as needed
• Must be able to perform tasks with little or no supervision
• Lubricate / grease equipment
• Basic welding skills and be willing to expand on these skills to include different types of welding (TIG and MIG)
• Maintain the maintenance shop and work area in accordance with Lifeway standards
• Attain basic knowledge of HVAC, chiller, and boiler systems
• Organizational problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent communication and customer service
• Other duties as assigned by Facilities Manager

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to follow instructions, read and speak English
• Basic math and measurement skills

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Some experience necessary

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Strong physical endurance
• Ability to be on your feet for an 8-hour shift
• Ability to kneel and maneuver through plant equipment
