Job summary

Neogen in Lansing, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician focused on electrical systems to keep our equipment reliable and available through proactive maintenance and testing.

You will perform scheduled maintenance, test performance, troubleshoot issues, and support staff with hands-on repairs, with weekend/overtime as needed to meet production goals. Join a team committed to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years’ experience repairing down equipment and performing preventive maintenance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Test equipment for performance and safety compliance.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and perform repairs.
  • Replace old or faulty electrical components.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on operation and maintenance.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns.
  • Be available to work weekends and overtime as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Initiative to contribute ideas and actions to cut costs and increase production.
  • Must be “hands on” and be able to work unsupervised.

Come Be Part of a Mission that Matters! Neogen is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team! Hours: Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-2:30am or Tuesday-Friday 4:00pm-2:30am The Maintenance Technician will focus on electrical systems. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the maintainability, reliability, and availability of our equipment through proactive maintenance and testing procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
  • Test equipment for performance and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues and perform repairs as needed.
  • Replace old or faulty electrical components and equipment.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Be available to work weekends and overtime as required to support operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Initiative to contribute ideas and actions to cut costs and increase production.
  • Must be “hands on” and be able to work unsupervised.

Education and Experience
